I do not mean popular radio rap but true rap, I’ve been listening to distant relatives and notice Nas and Damian Marley have very similar music styles is really the only difference Reggae’s origins come from the carribean while Rap is US cause KRS-One, Talib Kweli, Nas, K’Naan, Rakim, among others could do very well with reggae artists. So what are the musical differences between the two I listen to rap a lot more but am trying to branch out into reggae I should probably say I meant Hip-Hop and reggae. I think I found an answer. One has rapping and the other doesn’t. Hip hop artists incorporates reggae in some of their music, but they are definitely not the one in the same.

Instumentation: samples and drum machines vs the bands that play reggae.
(i’m referring to reggae like bob marley or steel pulse, not dancehall like sean paul or daddy yankee)
Delivery is more singing in reggae vs spoken rhythmically in hip hop.
Usually fewer beats per minute in reggae aka feels more laid back.
