What is special about reggae, like the beats and basically what makes reggae, reggae. If you have good knowledge of reggae tell me about; what were some famous reggae singers, the history, the themes. If you are a GCSE music student or a good KS3 music student then help me out and tell me how to get a very good level. Essentially — “Reggae is based on a rhythm style characterized by regular chops on the off-beat, known as the skank. The tempo is generally slower than that found in ska and rocksteady. ”

Reggae Musicians

The exhibition will feature the work of the celebrated Jamaican photographer, Lindsay Donald. A small selection of his work can be seen at: The exhibition is being planned to last six months beginning in April 2007 and will comprise of many unseen images of Bob Marley and the Wailers taken during Marley’s last tour to the USA in 1980 and also many other famous reggae musicians of that era and other documentary work done by the photographer. My question to this forum is, are there any one presently at any State College or Universaties who wish to co-operate and help co-ordinate this fantastic exhibition? A selection of 12 mounted and framed photographs will be donated by the photographer to participating campuses. And so today I found out that… I do not know of any state colleges who would coordinate a whole tour, but any colleges can be reached on individual basis. I personally recommend Coe College, Cedar Rapids, IA. Www. Coe. Edu

I paid three bucks for three separate tips (total 3 bucks).

Reggae Music Video

Hello I used to watch this music video back when I was around 12 (I am now almost 22) and it consisted of a spaceman riding a skateboard. The genre of the music is like electro/techno fused with reggae and also featured in the music video is a black man with dreadlocks. At the end of the video the spaceman takes off his helmet and hands something to the black man. Any ideas as towards what the title of the track and artist can be. And so today I found out that… From my understanding I think it is by Jamiroquai, named Feels Just Like it Should, since I remember that song from my childhood too. Hope I helped.

About Reggae Music In Jamaica

For a place so small and poor, it is very popular. Everybody know where it is and know at least one thing about it. Some people like it for the reggae music, food, dub, Bob Marley and a ton of other reasons. But why do so many people fame Jamaica so? Why is such a little country so popular. I was happy to learn… Jamaica is a small (defendable) country with STRATEGIC POSITIONING. Its not too big to require a trillion dollar budget to maintain and defend, but its not too small to have a mind of its own. Jamaica’s positioning in the middle of the caribbean (half way between north and south america, close to central america, not too far from anywhere), has made it a convenient stopping point for good people with powerful minds. In the slavery days, this meant that highly rebellious slaves would be left here before ships even reached america. During world war two, we had a US air base, here for the same reason. In more modern times, its positioning allowed it to be an off-shore base for good thinkers such a Marcus Garvey. We are close enough to the USA to do business and to be influenced, yet still we are far enough to have our own opinion. The passive, limited influence has lead to good social expression such as those from Bob Marley. If Jamaica was north of Cuba, this COULD NOT happen. The USA government would have ‘owned us’ long ago. Tourists know that its cheaper to come to Jamaica than to go all the way to Barbadoes. We can run major smuggling operations (ganja and other stuff) because we are just outside USA’s main sphere of countrol (with cuba as a political buffer). Traffickers love this in the same way that pirates loved this in the glory days of Port Royal. I am sure the days of Tainos, Caribs and Arawaks, our positioning was convenient to them too, as they moved around even smaller sea-going vessels. Basically our size and positioning contributes the most to our cultural wealth as a country. . And always has for 500 years.

Free Reggae Music

I need a website to go to & download all types of music for free but mainly reggae music. What I found out was • It doesn’t post raggae music, but if you know a song that you want, just contact requestit. Org and they’ll find it for you. You can either contact them via their contact form, or even by text, just text them the song you want, the artist and your email, they’ll email you a download link. They’re very trust worthy, I used to use their old site all the time, then they stop using the site and started this new one.

Music meets art and stage. . . David Kirton, Alternative Roots Rock Reggae singer songwriter from Caribbean island Barbados soars. CSI actor Gary Dourdan cameo’s as the band and acclaimed artist William Attaway brings life to the song as paintings emerge in real time.

Reggae Music History

In my opinion = YES Joe strummer and his friends yes revolutionize the history of British Rock, and moreover they were one of the first bands to mix other musical rhythms to rock like Punk and Reggae music Eletronica to notice enough of it in various in banda music – and yes Electronic music in mid 70s and besides, they looked forward to the police, and political rulers like the lyrics, and also had many followers from tribes not only punks and rockers as regueiros and the skinhead’s . I was so glad to find this — No, some of their songs were good – London Calling, The Guns of Brixton and Rock The Casbah for instance, but they also put out rubbish like Jimmy Jazz.

About Reggae Music Instrument

I’m 18 years old and I just started playing guitar this year. I’ve been playing since about March-April and I’ve picked up quite a few songs. I’ve always wanted to play an instrument and start singing, but now I have started, although I’m not sure if it’s too late for me (singing). My parents were decent singers, especially when they were young, but it hasn’t passed on to me. My mother sounded like a pop singer when young, but has lost it now and cannot teach me – she learnt by ear. I am just after any advice on to what I can do to improve, seeing as I’m still a beginner. I have always loved music, especially reggae but other songs as well, and hopefully someday I want to create a reggae band just with friends / mates for fun / busking hehehe. I’m also a uni student so I may be alittle busy, but I will put in the effort because I love music and find lots of joy out of playing a song I play songs such as Bob Marley One love, Stir It Up, Redemption Song, Is this love, Dreadlock Holiday, (any other suggestions for me to play on guitar) because that’s what I often listen to and hopefully sing. I know other reggae artists but they aren’t that popular, so not worth mentioning. Along the way, using youtube as my teacher, I have picked up other songs which I like and which help me learn chords. Wish You were here, Hey Ya, Louie Louie, Sultans of swing, Over the rainbow Iz, Green Day time of your life, Sweet Child O Mine (rhythm not solo) I am learning Eric Clapton tears in heaven, I can pick Creed One last breath but only slowly, and I’m learning how to play the boxer picking style – garfunkel and simon. I would love to learn to pick but am not a picker if you know what I mean. I learnt these songs by researching chords / tabs so I cannot play by ear. I can’t really sing, so I would often know what advice you have about singing. I’ve got a deep, teenage voice so it is a bit crackly haha. I can play the songs, just can’t sing them. I try to sing high like others, but I can’t reach it at the top, it goes into a ‘crack’ stage where it osounds terrible. Usually I sing a little deeper, but I am trying to learn how to get higher. My parents say I sing ‘flat’ most of the time, but I don’t really acknowledge when i’m singing flat. (is it too late to start singing without having to pay?) Please give me any advice on how to get better at singing, playing guitar, even any new songs (reggae would be great but whatever you have would be good for learning . . Etc) I have an acoustic guitar, a classical guitar, and an electric guitar. It would be awesome if I could learn to sing, as I am a poor singer. I may be a little nasal as well, because I have a funny voice like I’ve got a cold. It is still deep though. . I also don’t often sing in front of others, mainly because I can’t sing. I really would love to sing though, especially in a band (if possible) as a singer or even backup singer ( maybe that’s a bit much? Haha) Please help me if you can, it would be greatly appreciated . From what I can tell… It’s as simple as this; the more you practice, the better you will be

Origins Of Reggae Music

I do not mean popular radio rap but true rap, I’ve been listening to distant relatives and notice Nas and Damian Marley have very similar music styles is really the only difference Reggae’s origins come from the carribean while Rap is US cause KRS-One, Talib Kweli, Nas, K’Naan, Rakim, among others could do very well with reggae artists. So what are the musical differences between the two I listen to rap a lot more but am trying to branch out into reggae I should probably say I meant Hip-Hop and reggae. I think I found an answer. One has rapping and the other doesn’t. Hip hop artists incorporates reggae in some of their music, but they are definitely not the one in the same.

History About Reggae Music

I have a friend that knows everything about rock music and bands and who’s who and about musicians etc. I want to be more KNOWLEDGABLE.. Is there a book of facts or any website that I can read?. wanna know a lot about music and history of musicians etc. Really about reggae and jazz as well. Any resources I can look at. Do you know what I found? There is no one book that can cover everything about music. That will take many books, and websites to learn as well as a good number of years. Even then it won’t truly cover everything. Learn about the difference between genres sub genres and styles within sub genres. Sub genres are off shoots of the main sphere of a genre, and are often mistakenly named a genre. However Wikipedia’s definition of genres is incorrect as many so named genres are actually sub genres, and fall under a main sphere genre, or are actually not a genre. This is why schools and colleges will not accept Wikipedia as a reliable resource. As an example metal is classed as a sub genre of rock. Pop music is not a genre or sub genre, but what is popular, and can draw from from any genre of music, such as country, rock, jazz, or any of the other main sphere genres of music. I’ve been studying, and listening to music for all most all of my life, and that’s fifty four years. Yet I’m still a student and always will be, as will anyone who is honest with themselves.
